Safeguarding and Equality

Our commitment to safety, respect, and inclusion for everyone

Introduction and Commitment

At FC Nations, creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment is at the heart of everything we do. Every player, coach, volunteer, parent and supporter has the right to enjoy football in an atmosphere built on respect, kindness and equality.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We are committed to protecting the welfare of every child, young person and adult involved with our club by promoting best practice, encouraging open communication and responding appropriately to any concerns that may arise. Our aim is simple: football should always be a positive experience where every individual feels valued, supported and able to reach their full potential.

Club Safeguarding and Policy

FC Nations follows The Football Association's safeguarding policies and procedures to help ensure every participant can enjoy football in a safe environment. All coaches and volunteers working with children complete the appropriate safeguarding and DBS requirements, while our Welfare Officer provides guidance and support whenever concerns arise.

We believe safeguarding goes beyond policies and paperwork. It means creating a culture where everyone feels comfortable speaking up, where concerns are taken seriously and where the wellbeing of every player always comes before results or performance

How to Raise a Concern

If you have any concerns about the welfare, safety or wellbeing of a player, volunteer or member of our club, we encourage you to speak to our Club Welfare Officer as soon as possible. Concerns will always be treated sensitively, respectfully and, where appropriate, confidentially.

You do not need proof to report a concern. If something doesn't feel right, we would always rather you speak up. Every concern is taken seriously and managed in line with FA safeguarding procedures to ensure the appropriate support and action can be provided.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Football belongs to everyone. At FC Nations, we celebrate the diversity of our players, volunteers and supporters, and we're committed to creating an environment where everyone feels respected, welcomed and able to participate without fear of discrimination.

We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying, harassment or abusive behaviour of any kind. Regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, faith, gender, sexual orientation or background, every individual deserves the opportunity to enjoy football in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where differences are valued and everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Usefull Resources

We understand that safeguarding and wellbeing extend beyond the football pitch. That's why we've brought together a range of trusted organisations, guidance and educational resources to support players, parents, coaches and volunteers.

Whether you're looking for safeguarding training, mental health support, advice on equality and inclusion or information about reporting concerns, these resources provide expert guidance to help keep football safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

Football For All

At FC Nations, football is for everyone. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment where every player, coach, volunteer and supporter feels respected, valued and given the opportunity to enjoy the game, regardless of their background or ability.

Her Game Too

Football should be a place where everyone feels welcome, and girls and women deserve the same opportunities, respect and encouragement as anyone else. FC Nations proudly supports the Her Game Too movement and its mission to challenge sexism while creating a more inclusive future for football.

We are committed to providing opportunities for girls and women to enjoy football in a safe, positive environment where they can develop with confidence. By working together, we can help ensure that football is a game for everyone—on the pitch, on the sidelines and throughout our community.

Kick It Out

At FC Nations, football is for everyone. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment where every player, coach, volunteer and supporter feels respected, valued and given the opportunity to enjoy the game, regardless of their background or ability.
